Troubleshooting guide
"Red Alert! spews out too many irrelevant warnings."
Try switching the warning level to a higher setting with the /NOWARN command
line option.
"The screen clears after scanning a disk"
All messages are echoed to a file called REDALERT.REP. This is to be found in
the same directory as REDALERT.EXE. View it with a text editor.
"Messages flash past too fast to read"
All messages are echoed to a file called REDALERT.REP. This is to be found in
the same directory as REDALERT.EXE. View it with a text editor.
"It hangs my computer!"
Are you sure? Red Alert! has a complex code analyser which can take several
minutes to finish with some files. Leave Red Alert running whilst you go out
or do something else. If it hasn't finished after 30 minutes then contact
Servile Software.
"I can't escape whilst Red Alert's running"
No you can't! And DO NOT reboot or switch off the computer whilst Red Alert!
is running, unless you are sure it has hung.
"After switching the computer off while Red Alert! was running my FAT seems
corrupted"
If you must switch off or reboot the computer whilst Red Alert! is running,
then when you switch back on be sure to delete the file REDALERT.REP from the
disk as this will be an invalid entry in the FAT.
